Definition

Denim is a sturdy cotton fabric built with a twill (diagonal) weave and traditionally dyed in indigo: the warp yarn is coloured while the weft remains white, creating the characteristic effect that fades with wear. On garments and accessories it brings a recognisable heritage, casual look.

The distinction between raw denim and washed denim is relevant in the promotional market: raw denim retains the deep colour and tends to fade with use, forming personalised patterns; pre-washed denim has already undergone a softening treatment and has more muted, stable colours from the first use. On caps and accessories, denim is often combined with metal adjustable closures (strap or clip) for a coherent workwear/heritage look; in apparel it references classic workwear aesthetics. Embroidery customisation is optimal on structured denim; screen printing is possible but must be calibrated for the uneven base.
