Digitising

digitising, embroidery digitising

The 'print file' for embroidery. It must be done well: poor digitising ruins the final result.

Once per logoDigitiser quality matters
Definition

Process of converting a logo/image into a machine embroidery file (.DST). Defines the needle path, colours and stitch density.

Digitising is not automatic: a specialist operator (digitiser) manually interprets the logo and decides stitch sequences, stitch type (flat, satin, fill), run directions, and underlay. Poor digitising causes distorted embroidery, 'holes' in the fabric, or design warping.
