Canvas

canvas

Heavy, rigid cotton fabric. Robust workwear look. Thicker than standard twill.

Very resistantEmbroidery needs strong needles
Definition

Heavy cotton fabric with a plain weave (orthogonal threads). Stiffer and more resistant than twill. Workwear/outdoor aesthetic.

Canvas has a higher weight than standard twill (250–370 g/m²). The thicker surface requires stronger needles for embroidery. Screen printing works well but requires inks with greater penetration. It does not crease easily. Used in structured bucket hats and work caps.
