Definition

Polartec® is an American brand (now part of the Milliken Group) specialised in high-performance technical fleece fabrics. It is known for inventing modern synthetic fleece and for being the first manufacturer to produce yarn from post-consumer recycled PET plastic bottles.

The Polartec range includes specialised variants: Polartec Classic (standard fleece at 100/200/300 g/m²), Power Stretch Pro (four-way stretch, for baselayers), Power Air (encapsulates microfibres to reduce environmental shedding). In technical winter beanies and garments, Polartec is found as an inner lining or as the main body of the product. Its presence is a verifiable indicator of quality and sustainability. Customisation compatibility: embroidery with a stabilising backing; DTF for thermal patches; screen printing not recommended.
