Definition

Special open-weave fabric stiffened with resins, inserted inside the front panels. It's the element that makes a cap 'structured'.

Buckram is a cotton or polyester fabric impregnated with PVA/EVA (thermosetting synthetic glues). Typical thickness 0.8–1.2 mm. Premium models use 'hard' buckram (thicker, for maximum rigidity). Mid-range models use 'soft' or 'mid' buckram. During embroidery: it locks the fabric under the needle, preventing thread deviation.
