Definition

Recycled nylon (or recycled polyamide, rPA) is a synthetic fibre produced from post-consumer nylon waste such as fishing nets (e.g. Econyl®), industrial yarn or production offcuts. Compared with rPET it is less widespread but often higher-performing for strength and lightness.

Virgin nylon has a high environmental impact (it produces N₂O, a potent greenhouse gas); the recycled version reduces this impact by approximately 80%. Across caps, bags and technical outdoor accessories, recycled nylon appears in the highest-performance models, often in ripstop construction, for its lightness and abrasion resistance superior to polyester. Compared with rPET (which dominates the sustainable promotional market), recycled nylon is a higher-tier choice. Embroidery customisation is possible; sublimation is not recommended on nylon.
