The main difference versus the PPSS is the certification: the PPSS is in 80% organic + 20% recycled GRS-certified cotton with a sandwich on the visor; the Pilot Piping Sandwich is in 100% conventional cotton without supply-chain certification, without a sandwich on the visor but with a contrast-colour .

The 96 g weight is among the highest in the Atlantis baseball cap catalogue — every gram corresponds to the heavy brushed twill's density and the construction details of the piping and the bound-tape closure. The piping on the visor is relief piping — more pronounced than a simple contrast tape: a stitched cord creating a three-dimensional edge you can feel. The piping is also on the rear closure, creating constructional consistency between the cap's front and back.
