The recycled Merino wool in tubular construction supports front and back embroidery up to 12×4.5 cm. The tubular structure requires inserting a rigid internal support (cardboard or shaped plastic) during embroidery to avoid accidentally stitching the two layers of the tube together. Water-soluble stabiliser recommended. Fine-gauge ballpoint needles (75/11) to preserve the Merino fibres. Moderate stitch density so as not to alter the fabric's elasticity. Not compatible with 3D puff embroidery — the fine tubular fabric does not support the padding.
Woven or eco-leather patches applicable via perimeter stitching on the front. Heat-sealing is not recommended on Merino wool — stitching only. Maximum recommended size: 4 cm so as not to alter the tubular fit. A patch on Merino wool creates a very effective texture-on-texture aesthetic contrast.
It is the natural choice for outdoor brands, winter sports teams, trail running, ski touring and winter cycling after a technical neckwarmer with a quality material and a very low environmental footprint. It is not the right product for those after a synthetic or cotton neckwarmer: the Nantai is in pure recycled Merino wool, with the qualities and specificities of that material.
