The choice of fleece — rather than — changes the cap's behaviour: softer to the touch, with a more compact, less stretchy surface, and flat seams that eliminate any pressure point. The cuffless design makes it slightly lower in the than classic beanies.

The compact construction with visible flatlock seams is one of the Birk's distinctive construction features: the seams are flat and not felt on the head, making the cap suitable even for those sensitive to knit junction points. For decoration, is the only compatible technique — front and back up to 12×4.5 cm, sides at the same size. No direct printing technique is applicable on fleece.

The recycled-polyester fleece with flatlock seams supports front and side embroidery up to 12×4.5 cm. The fleece surface requires a tear-away stabiliser placed under the fabric to prevent the fleece fibres from tangling with the stitches during embroidery. Medium-fine gauge needles (80/12) and moderate stitch density preserve the fleece's softness after embroidery. Front, back and sides embroiderable at the same size. Not compatible with 3D puff embroidery — the thin fleece cannot hold the padding.
Woven, PVC or eco-leather patches applicable via perimeter stitching on the front or sides. The fleece surface creates a soft backing that visually enhances the patch. Heat-sealing is not recommended on fleece — stitching only. Maximum recommended size: 6 cm wide.
It is the natural choice for those after a light, comforting and certified fleece for non-intense outdoor activities — hiking, slow winter running, seasonal promotional gifts. It is not the right product for those after intense thermal insulation in deep cold or a cuffed beanie: the Birk is a spring-autumn seasonal-transition model for moderate cold.
