Portland Women
- OEKO-TEX
- Vegan
From the boutique counter to a studio reception: the polo that gets noticed for its details. All-cotton honeycomb knit, a mid-weight 200 g/m², tested for harmful substances under OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Chest embroidery or screen printing; on the sleeve, the left one, as the right already has its tape. SOL'S designs it for young fashion, in seven colours from burnt orange to bud green. For him there is the twin Portland Men, with the same grey tape.
We analyze it like an editorial team would. We don't sell it.

Some polo shirts are recognised by their logo. The Portland Women is recognised when it moves: a grey herringbone tape runs under the four pearl-white buttons, along the edge of the right sleeve and inside the side vents, short slits at the hem. These contrast details give this customisable women's polo the feel of a shop garment rather than a uniform. The fabric is a piqué, the honeycomb knit of classic polo shirts, in 100% cotton at 200 g/m², a mid-weight, with a shaped waist. It is certified, meaning tested for harmful substances, and PETA-Approved Vegan.

With details like these, the logo can stay small. SOL'S lists it as suitable for , , digital printing, heat transfer and heat-applied vinyl. We start from embroidery on the chest, in a thread that picks up the grey of the tape or the white of the buttons. The piqué holds it without puckering; in prints, on the other hand, the raised texture breaks up fine strokes, and solid lettering and logos come out stronger.
Printing techniques.
A verdict for each one.
What to expect on this specific product, technique by technique.
An embroidered logo on the chest is the most natural way to sign this polo, and it is the first technique SOL'S lists. For standard embroidery on a polo we ask for at least 170-180 g/m², and here there are 200. Our advice concerns the thread colour: grey like the tape or white like the buttons, so the logo becomes part of the garment's design.
Listed by SOL'S, which specifies an opaque white base under the ink on dark colours: a first layer of white that keeps the colours bright. It is screen printing, one pass per colour, and it pays off when there are plenty of polos. Pure cotton takes it evenly; the honeycomb knit only asks for artwork with confident strokes, because the finest lines fall into the hollows.
It is the polo for people who work in front of customers and need to look part of the place: the assistant in a concept store, the sommelier on the floor, the receptionist at an architecture studio. It is not the right choice for kitchen staff: SOL'S gives a 40 °C wash, which handles everyday dirt but not grease stains. Anyone looking for a more understated polo, with no contrasts, in sixteen colours and up to 3XL, will find the People in the same collection. Before ordering: ultramarine, burnt orange and bud green are not available in every size.

Behind a boutique counter or at a studio reception, the point is to look dressed, not in uniform. The shaped waist, pearl buttons and grey tape do exactly that; a small embroidery on the chest is all the logo needs.

Declared certifications.
And what they guarantee.
We list only third-party certifications declared by the manufacturer: some concern the environment, others the safety of substances or working conditions.
Certifies that every component of the finished product — fabric, stitching, buttons, labels, prints — has been tested against a list of over 1,000 harmful substances. Guarantees that what you wear contains nothing chemically dangerous to health. It says nothing about how the product was manufactured, by whom, or with what environmental impact: other certifications exist for those verifications. It is the world's most widely used and rigorous chemical safety standard for finished textile products.
